Borg Dreams: The Basics of Wormhole Physics

Wormhole generation is actually quite simple with the right technology, relying on quantum tunneling and entanglement to generate the "wormhole", and more advanced string-waveform induction dynamics to induce and control the "gateways."

Obviously a "gate" must be created both at the point one wishes to leave and the point at which one wishes to arrive. Actually traveling the distance to create the path would defeat the entire purpose. Even sending particles or energy in a warp field would take far too long. This was overcome by using two quantum effects, tunneling and entanglement.

Tunneling is the ability of a quantum-scale particle to bypass a potential energy barrier (in this case the vast distance of space) without having to actually travel through it, in effect teleporting from one place to another. This is done with an "entangled" particle, one which "tied up" with another particle, so that something done to one effects the other instantly, over any distance.

All remaining work needs to be done only to the near particle. The particle is then induced into a spacial collapse, into a 1-dimensional string, inducing a linked singularity between the entangled particles. As the string is expanded as a ring (by manipulating the size and shape of the one 'visible' dimension) the same occurs at the other particle, which has been "tunneled" to the destination, and being linked by their mutual singularity, create a "wormhole" between the two points.

A ship can maintain a wormhole by continuously running the onboard generators which maintain the space-time distortions, as they tend to collapse and revert to their natural state when not kept open. While the wormhole can be kept open from either end, sending several ships through is difficult as remaining in position to "target" the hole and keep it open generally gets in the way of incoming vessels (though it can be done). To overcome this (and insure that nothing on the far-side destroys the generating ship as another vessel is halfway through) a vessel called an end-point generator ship is normally used, which generates the wormhole for other vessels, and is the last to pass through. This also enables ships not equipped with the necessary generator to travel through such wormholes.

The end point generator is also the basis for planet-based gateways, and teleporters.

Christian Science Part 1

My first problem with this religion is one of semantics. This is not in any way proof of anything, just something suggestive.
According to Christian Science, illness is a delusion, as is all reality. They define reality as the divine mind and our perceptions of the real world as delusions of the divine mind. So in other words we're the psychotic dreams of god. (that is just my own bias there, btw)
Most people define reality as that which can be understood through the senses of the body. There might be "higher rhealms" or indeed the world could be just a construct of the mind of God, but the world we see is defined as real, but Christian Scientists feel the need to change this definition.
Again this proves nothing, it just bothers me.

My first real argument comes from their very conception of the non-reality of the world. Nowhere in the bible, which they do hold to as any Christian group does, is such an idea supported. Quite the contrary the early books make it clear that while there is earth and sheol, there is no real after life for humans, no heaven or hell, no spiritual rhealm of reality wherein earth is an illusion.

Christian Science holds prayer above medicine, and it's adherents generally forgo medical treatment to be healed entirely by faith, while they do however acknowledge and respect those in the medical profession.
According to one study at least, prayer proved entirely useless. People who recieved prayer had no noticable improvement over those who did not. In fact those who knew they were being prayed for had the most post-op complications, over those who were not prayed for and those that were but didn't know it. There was no difference at all in recovery rates or times for any of the groups in the study. So apparently their method of healing of choice doesn't work, and they're denying, rather then understanding, reality, thus violating law 1: it must be true.
Many accounts indeed have been published of faith healings and the like, however many practitioners have been found to be frauds, out for peoples money, or capable of only providing recounts of case studies, that is individual examples, which alone are considered scientifically unsound.

Christian Identity - One Part to Final Verdict

First off, Christian Identity has all the problems of Christianity which have already been discussed. They then add the belief that white people are the true Israelites, and that the Jews are descended from eastern tribes converted to Judaism later on. Thus they believe that they are the "chosen" of God (title given to the descendants of Abraham in the bible) and thus better then all other races etc. Really this is just a justification to bring their racist and christian beliefs into alignment with one another. Jews are Jews. Whites are not the "real" descendants of the chosen of Israel.

Darwin strikes again

Score one for evolution.

For the first time scientists have observed in real-time evolutionary changes in one species driven by competition for resources from another.

In a mere two decades, one of Charles Darwin's finch species, Geospiza fortis, reduced its beak size to better equip itself to consume small-sized seeds, scientists report in Friday's issue of the journal Science.

The finch once had its own kingdom on the Galapagos Island of Daphne Major. It had its pick of seeds to eat. But the arrival of another species of finch about 20 years ago, and additional food competition from a drought on the island in 2003, changed everything.

"When there is a severe drought on a small island, natural selection occurs," said study co-author Peter Grant of Princeton University.

The new larger species ate the larger and harder seeds on the island, food that the biggest members of the native finch clan normally ate.

"The recent immigrant species had almost eaten the supply of food themselves, so they almost went extinct," Grant said. "The resident species, the species that was there before the new species arrived, underwent a large shift toward small size in beaks."

Typically, the small members of the species can't crack the larger seeds. But with the depletion of the larger seeds, the small-beaked population, which could reach the smaller feed and needed less food to meet its daily energy needs, had a better survival rate.

This type of evolutionary change is known as character displacement.

"It's a very important one in studies of evolution because it shows that species interact for food and undergo evolutionary change, which minimizes further evolution," Grant said. 'It has not been possible to observe the whole process from start to finish in nature."

Science and Religion (Rule 4)

4) Any true religion must specifically encourage scientific inquiry without limitation.
This is in accordance with the other 3 laws (it's true, it's consistent, it's complete). As stated earlier a true religion would never fear honest inquiry, and therefore would encourage investigation as such could only prove the truth.

I add this as a law for a specific reason. In my historical studies I've noticed a tendency for any religion, no matter how much it claims to support science, to enter a period where it opposes science. Christianity began this way, not only discouraging scientific study (bringing advancement to a halt for a few centuries) but ultimately set back the state of knowledge to pre-helenic times.
Islam, during the western worlds dark age very much encouraged scientific advancement. Today however most islamic countries have regressed and it is only through globalism that they do not fall behind.
Asian nations (especially China) have had a unique advantage with no real religion (Confucianism is a doctrine for living and organizing society but is not a religion) and no real "dark age" though their systems (and communist government) have delayed much scientific inquiry until changes made in recent years.

It is in fact religion which has held back man kind more then anything else in history. Without the dark ages setting us back, we'd be millenia ahead of where we are now. Considering the increasing rate of scientific advancement, it's difficult to imagine just how far along we'd be.

Borg Dreams: Warp Drive and Wormholes

-Explanation-

The more advanced races which use a type of intergalactic or transgalactic form of transportation have moved far beyond the hyper drive and light speed and faster then light speed travel through space.

Their method of transport involves creating a one dimensional string with attached ends, essentially a ring. This requires very little energy as only one dimension must be acted on. While the physics are beyond the comprehension of most forms of lesser life, such as humans, a simple discourse is still possible. Upon creation of this one dimensional ring the remaining dimensions can be understood as being "rolled up" within that one dimension. This creates infinite density and thus a singularity. Three of these remaining dimensions are then "attached" to the point in space one wishes to travel to, where a second ring is generated createing a wormhole between the two points. The distance is then negligible. There is no travel between the points. One does not go through a tunnel. On merely "steps" through the ring and is on the other side.

Seeing the ring can be disorienting at first. It begins as a point and expands to the necessary size (to fit whatever is going through). Being one dimensional the string itself is not visible. Therefore the hole appears as a circle overlaying the image of space behind it. Stars that are normally seen in that place from ones vantage point are distorted, their light bent outward past the edge of the ring. A star at the center would appear as a perfect ring at the very edge of the wormhole, the other stars bending only slightly further outward. Stars from the point of degress are clear as if ones ship were at a comparable point in that area of space. This form of travel is mostly done in space where no side effects are likely to occur. Navigation is also made easier as the large amount of space vs. occupied space (by matter) makes it easier to choose points of origin and destination.

A smaller version has been created which is planet based. The points are connected by "generators" which exist at both ends insuring a path is created only between two points within comparable atmospheres. (One in atmosphere and one in space could create huge problems, as with a sudden infinite vacuum removing a planet's atmosphere leaving it uninhabitable. This has been theorized as a potential usage for the generators as a weapon.)
These generators, usually called gates (since you walk through them), are circular in shape, the ring existing more for the mental well being of the travelers not having to see the actual rip in space-time which while not harmful can be disconcerting. Very few of these exist, and usually only on planets controlled by a single space-faring race which can also travel by ship. They are most often used for transportation of supplies and personel from planet to planet, or even between points on a single planet. A modified, short range version is also used for "teleportation" without gates, as between a ship and planet surface.

Older forms of transportation include the hyper drive which actively generated localized distortions in space time, compressing space and slowing time allowing travel between stars to be done in a reasonable amount of time (though still taking days between near stars and months or years for greater distances). These engines used a form of induced singularity to generate power (which they required a lot of), were prone to failure (which usually meant slow death in the vacuum of space), and could cause damage to anything they came near including other ships, satellites (natural and artificial) and even planets. Navigation was also difficult as coming too close to a star or black hole would result in being captured by the gravity and being destroyed.

The Bible on Murder

Just an interesting thing to come to my attention: When Cain kills Abel, God says he will avenge Cain seven fold if anyone kills him.
so...the punishment for killing your own brother is God will give seven times the punishment to anyone who kills you...you get God's protection if you kill someone.

Later Lamech kills someone and states that if God avenges Cain seven fold, he (Lamech) if killed, shall be avenged seventy seven fold.

Verdict is in. "God" that is Yahweh, Jehovah, what ever....is actually the Demon of Murder. It would certainly explain a lot, like the Spanish Inquisition.

Surah 41:9-12 in the Qur'an outline the creation first given in Genesis. This story however gives us not 6 (plus one day of rest for 7) but 8 days of creation. This violates consistency with the Genesis creation story. To go further the Qur'an then contradicts itself in Surah 10:3 which gives only 6 days for creation again.

In the Qur'anic version of the Tale of the Golden Calf it is a Samaritan who helps the Israelites form the calf as they wait Moses' return from the mountain. In fact the Samaritans did not exist for another 1,000 years, long after the supposed time of the event of the calf.

The Qur'an claims Alexander the Great was a Muslim and lived to a ripe old age (Surah 18:89-98).
Historical evidence has shown that Alexander in fact died at age 33, quite young, considered himself the son of a god (Zeus) if not a god himself, and raised temples to 12 Olympian gods while in India, all in violation of Islamic law.

The Qur'an mistakenly refers to the Christian trinity as "Father, Mother and Son" when it is in fact "Father, Son and Holy Spirit".

The Qur'an refers to "Jesus" as Issa, a name more appropriately used for "Esau", where in Arabic Jesus should be Yesuwa, similar to the Hebrew Yeshuwa. The "perfect" Qur'an gets the name entirely wrong, or all Islamic scholars have falsely believed that the Qur'an mentions Jesus.

In Surah 17:1 it claims Muhammad visited the Dome of the Rock mosque in Jerusalem. The first problem with this is that the Dome of the Rock was built 58 years after Muhammad's death, in 690 (Muhammad's believed to have died in 631). Further, there was no temple of any sort at this location. The previous one had been destroyed around year 60 by the Roman Emperor Titus.

Then this just gets ridiculous:
King Solomon was taught the speech of birds (sura 27:16) and the speech of ants (sura 27:18-19). In his battles, he used birds extensively to drop clay bricks on Abrah's army (sura 105:3-4), and marched them in military parades (sura 27:17). He also used them to bring him messages of powerful queens (sura 27:20-27).
